How to change Plan Type name in LCM

I think almost all of you have now used (or know) LCM, the new (hmm its not that new, because LCM was there in 9 version but limited to Reporting only) tool has helped or made life lot easier.

Just with click of some button you can migrate the entire artifacts of a product. I hope in the later versions we can also migrate Data. (this version don’t support data migration).

So I was in the process of migrate one of our planning application from DEV to TEST.

Our DEV and TEST environment had Plan Type name changes and I had to correct those before migrating.

Our DEV environment we had P&L, Rev, Salary as Plantypes, but TEST environment we changed P&L to Opex. (File System view)

If you have performed the migration using LCM, then you would have noted the path where it saves the artifacts.

E:OracleMiddlewareuser_projectsepmsystem1import_export<user_name><file_name>

You’ll have info and resource folders under this.

Edit listing.xml under info folder, find the plan type name that you would like to change, (in my case it is P&L i.e. P&L), replace it with the new name.

You can see the name change when you navigate back to the file system view.

Hope it helps
